Employment Opportunities

We are currently looking to fill many positions for the upcoming
2018 season. Most positions emphasize a flexibility of “do-all”, but we are
expanding and growing as a company and have some dedicated areas.
Regardless, this is a fast-pace environment. Below will give you an idea of what we’re looking to build on, so please reference these areas on the
application.

The Garden Center is where we started, and the
foundation of this company. We are growers at heart, and grow most of our annuals, perennials and vegetables on this property. Helping customers and attending to plant material is the focus. Working
outside, in greenhouses, and on your feet is physically demanding but
extremely important. We do everything from moving materials, setting up displays, watering and tending to plants, assisting customers, working the register and much more. There are also other related areas such as delivering and receiving shipments of loam, compost, mulch, and trees that require the use of larger equipment (if qualified).

We offer Landscape & Maintenance services that cater to our customer’s needs beyond the garden center. This involves plant and hardscape
installations, mowing, weeding, clean-ups, and other duties involved with residential and commercial landscapes. We have different crews dedicated to plant installations, routine property visits for customers and businesses, and scheduled lawn mowing and care.
Job Examples:
Hardscape Foreman
Maintenance Foreman
Hardscape Installers
Landscaper

Shady Hill Expectations:
-Reliable and hard work-ethic
-Ability to work in the elements: cold, heat, rain, etc.
-Flexible schedule: weekends & holidays
-Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
-Good communication skills
-Friendly Customer Service
-Reliable and hard work-ethic
-Attention to detail

Experience is encouraged but not required. We love what we do, and are looking for individuals who can jump right in and share that type of
philosophy. This company works with the seasons, so our effort and layout is always evolving. New England brings these challenges…one minute we’re planting a new garden in the spring, and the next we’re selling mums and
raking up leaves in the fall. We are open year-round so please feel free to call with any questions.

We are looking forward to an exciting season!
