Job Description: Front-End Manager Position


We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic person to fill the role of Front-End Manager. The ideal candidate has retail and gardening experience with great communication and customer service skills. They’ll be overseeing all aspects of the retail sales and floor operations.

 

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management

  • Recruit, train, motivate and supervise the sales associates and cashiers.

  • Teach, train and oversee the functions of the POS

  • Create and maintain the staff’s weekly schedules and time-off requests


Sales and Customer Service

  • Promote seasonal sales

  • Assist in customer service including answering questions, inquiries and returns

  • Understanding and resolving any customer issues that may arise while following company policies and procedures

Store Operations

  • Overseeing daily projects and tasks for the staff. Ensuring that they are completed properly and within a timely manner

  • Manage cash handling and daily sales reconciliation

  • Following merchandising trends, displays and inventory management, ensuring shelves and displays are stocked and clean

  • Receiving shipments and deliveries as they arrive

  • Managing appearances such as weeding, sweeping, watering, and general store cleanliness


Marketing and Promotions

  • Assist in developing weekly specials and promotional sales

  • Make sure signs and displays are correctly marked with current sales prices

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in retail sales and customer service, preferably in a garden enter, nursery or similar industry

  • Strong knowledge of plant material, gardening practices and related products

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Customer-centric approach and delivering exceptional service

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer skills

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, work on your feet for most of the day and work in all forms of weather conditions

Compensation based on experience
